BACK TO THE CAVE – THE FULL SPECTRUM

IN COLLABORATION WITH GALLERY PANGOLIN

This summer, sculpture goes underground at Clearwell Caves for the second time with this exciting exhibition of modern and contemporary sculpture, curated by Rungwe Kingdon and Claude Koenig. Taking its theme of colour from the ochre mined at the caves since Neolithic times, it will feature works by over fifty British and international modern and contemporary artists.

Visitors to the exhibition will follow a planned route – 550 metres long and up to 100ft below ground – where they will encounter sculptures, including several new site-specific works, and have a chance to explore the mine.

Artists taking part range from post-war pioneers Lynn Chadwick, Geoffrey Clarke and William Tucker, through to Antony Gormley, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Polly Morgan, Tavares Strachan, Monira Al Qadiri, Ann Christopher, Merete Rasmussen, and Peter Oloya. The full list will be announced soon.

Entry to the exhibition is included in your ‘Cave Entry‘ ticket purchased for dates running from 23 May to 31 August 2025.
